Gerrit Valckenaers stands for an eclectic choice of music and a sense of experiment. For example, he is a music history teacher at knst., radio maker at Klara, plays music in, among others, The Colorist Orchestra, and wrote the book Tumult. The music of the twentieth century in 32 masterpieces. Upon his retirement at knst., we would like to put him in the spotlight with music by modernists from the beginning of the 20th century. And who can introduce that music better than... himself?! Vooraleer Het Collectief bringing that anthology, we make the connection with the new generation of musicologists. Stijn Paredis, also no stranger to CCHA thanks to his introductions to the symphonic concerts, brings a lecture full of surprising stories and turning points from the history of our concert and listening culture.
