De Seizoenen 2.0 is a poetic concert performance with music, poetry, and performance. Pianiste Marie François starts from De Seizoenen van Pjotr Iljitsj Tsjaikovski, an iconic piano cycle that musically and poetically depicted every month of the year 150 years ago. She gives the work a contemporary breath and lifts it above the classical concert.
What emerges is a theatrical ritual about time, repetition, and transience. A year unfolds: from the cautious awakening of spring to the stillness of winter. The music is carried and deepened by poetry, written especially for this project by Joke van Leeuwen, Lize Spit, Ester Naomi Perquin, and Max Temmerman. Together they let you hear and feel what time sounds like.
