Poetry festival: Vers Fruit & Zoete Koek

Vers Fruit is growing into a full-fledged festival for young and old: Vers Fruit and Zoete Koek. Expect an afternoon and evening full of poetry, music, and creativity. We start at 2:00 PM with a presentation moment of the Kunstacademie Woord. Children can simultaneously participate in a creative workshop around language. At 3:00 PM, Spoken Word BXL brings an energetic speakeasy. From 5:00 PM, poets Anne Marijn Voorhorst, Zindzi Tillot, and Hans Depelchin* will read. After a short break with the table d’hôtes of Parckfarm, we conclude with a performance of the Brusselse Wednesday Morning Ensemble*, which brings together music, performance, and current themes. Her debut collection "Vertrekken" appears on October 28, 2026. She writes about desire, intimacy, and power, and has a fascination for the monstrous. Spatial structures such as shopping centers and caves form the skeleton of her poetry. *Zindzi Tillot lives in Brussels and studies word art. She is a member of the feminist writing collective Hyster-X and editor at the literary drilling platform Kluger Hans. In recent years she has worked mainly as a poet. Her work could be described as melancholic fever dreams with sharp edges. *Hans Depelchin is a writer, poet, and teacher. He debuted with the novel "Weekdier" and published his first poetry collection "Spanriem" in 2022, in which he explores the elasticity of love. His new novel, "De rode koe", is nominated for De Boon 2026. * Met Brussel as a starting point moves Wednesdag Morning Ensemble, Naomi Van Neygen, Miguel Van den Bedem, Jonathan Nyakarashi, and Thomas Van Walle, at the interface of contemporary classical music, improvisation, sound art, and performance. With focus, curiosity, and attitude, the ensemble develops an idiosyncratic practice in which social and cultural tensions are translated into sound, text, and theatrical interventions.
