In search of nature around the Prijkels

The extensive industrial estate De Prijkels, on the border of Deinze, Nazareth, and Kruisem, is bordered by wide lanes with varied and flower-rich verges. Some grass plots are extensively grazed by sheep. The seven wadis must protect the company buildings from flooding and also attract quite a few amphibians and water birds. In the middle of this site also lies the 27-hectare Callemoei pond. Does nature in this environment still get real chances? Get ready for a fascinating trip where we alternately cycle and walk.
