To Do!! Start time and exact meeting place! Contact details -> Whatsapp De bird migration is a fascinating natural wonder: every year, millions of birds cover huge distances, guided by instinct, the sun, stars, and the Earth's magnetic field. An impressive journey full of survival instinct, orientation, and strength. You probably know the spectacular images of migrating Cranes, but small songbirds such as Meadow Pipits also migrate en masse to the south. In Brussels too, you can experience bird migration in real life. We meet at a place in Anderlecht from where migrating birds have been watched for years: a railway bridge in Neerpede (Anderlecht). Experienced migration counter Steven van Garsse and our bird guide (Marina Opsomer) will lead you into the wonderful world of bird migration. The die-hards are welcome to join us at the counting point from 8 o'clock in the morning. Prefer a quiet breakfast? No problem, you can also join at 10 o'clock. Our guides will then provide extra text and explanation about the phenomenon of bird migration and we will look together at what is flying over our heads. If we are very lucky, maybe a Red Kite (see illustration) will fly over. But that Meadow Pipit is guaranteed ; ) Appointment: 8 AM or 10 AM on the railway bridge (exact location to follow)
