Patricia is in her mid-thirties and still lives with her parents. She struggles with herself, but there is also little stability at home. Her parents are drowning in their own worries: financial problems, suspicion, and conspiracy theories color their view of the world. Everyone is just muddling through. What is actually real? And what have we made up ourselves? In a world that we are constantly interpreting and reinventing, facts and fabrications intertwine into a collective swamp of assumptions. We repeat each other, seek confirmation with phrases like “Right!?”, “Get it?”, and “Isn't that so?” and believe this is reality. But meanwhile, the world, like a marble out of a pocket, is steadily tumbling toward the abyss. In this performance, Liesa Naert, Karlijn Sileghem, and Peter De Graef, directed by Jan Sobrie, bring a razor-sharp and simultaneously moving look at the fragile boundaries between reality and illusion, banality and meaning, despair and hope. A special and at times witty portrait of people trying to get a grip on a world that keeps slipping away from them.
