Know thy neighbour... Living Apartment Together takes place at twilight in the city. A group of spectators, wearing headphones, watches the side wall of an apartment block, mesmerized. Scenes unfold on a life-sized projection that highlight the moving beauty of our everyday existence. Magically, the facade of an apartment block opens like a tin of sardines. The headphones place you in the middle of the action one moment and then give you the feeling that you are eavesdropping from a distance, with life in the city rushing by all around. Living Apartment Together is inspired by Georges Perecs's fascinating novel Life: A User's Manual. For the script, director Yves Degryse, artistic director at NTGent and BERLIN, conducts interviews in various cities and processes them into scenarios together with Angelo Tijssens, who, as a screenwriter, worked on films such as Girl and Close van Lukas Dhont. Living Apartment Together is about tipping points, invisible synchronicity, and the realization that every beginning is nothing more than a continuation.
