"The three players grab the edges, worm their bodies into geometric constructions, and dangle down to just above our heads – a particularly fascinating aerial ballet."**** What is a frame for a painting? What if you remove the frame? Or conversely: what if you remove the artwork and only look at the frame? Alexander Vantournhout and his three co-performers build changing body sculptures in giant frames. Bodies intertwine, hang from, and climb on the frames, walk upside down. The spectator can look from the front, from the side, and even from below. Perspectives tilt, physical logic seems to disappear. Frames' invites you on a route in Roeselare along choreographic installations that challenge and blend art and viewing perspectives into physical poetry in the public space. In the past decade, Roeselarenaar Alexander Vantournhout created an impressive and diverse oeuvre. With 'Frames', he adds a sequel to the location performance 'SCREWS' (2019) which was very well received at de groote stooringe. For everyone from 12 years old.
