The Bempt

At the southern end of the Audi site, flush with the Ring, the Bempt, a former alluvial meadow of the Senne, is today both a park, a municipal green space depot, and a sports complex. Tomorrow, will it become the new setting for the Union Saint-Gilloise stadium? The project has just passed to public inquiry. Members of IEB and the Collectif Bempt will tell you the eventful stories of the Bempt, from its nourishing function to the successive mobilizations of the inhabitants to preserve it.
