Two brothers, 26-year-old Tarek and 12-year-old Fouad, try to find their way together and build a life in their home city of Brussels. When Wanneer Tarek gets the opportunity to go and realize his ultimate sports dream in the Verenigde Staten, his life and that of his younger brother take a new and unexpected turn. While both brothers have to get used to the new reality, Fouad continues to struggle with the pressure of his environment.
An honest and intimate portrait of two young people trying to find their way in difficult circumstances and a nuanced picture of a capital city that does not have its image going for it, with all its pitfalls and charms. 'BXL', written and directed by Ish and Monir Ait Hamou, won the audience award at the Filmfestival Gent.
