When a team of four scientists and an arrogant robot, after many years, finally arrives on Mars with the task of restarting human civilization, they receive the message from the last bastion on earth that a better alternative has been found in the meantime and their mission has become meaningless. Four stranded individuals must search for their humanity on Mars. It soon becomes clear that completely redefining a new society in practice is just a little less evident than they thought in theory. Do they base themselves on the past, do they try something truly new? Is a utopia a utopia? Can findings from the past truly offer wisdom for the future or are we doomed to always make the same mistakes again, regardless of which planet we are on?
