Butter smuggling, a form of cross-border crime that died out earlier, a romantic crime. Sugar, distilled, tobacco, cigars, cigarettes, rolling papers, chewing gum, coffee, wool, cotton, women's stockings, gloves, men's outerwear and underwear, women's outerwear and underwear, cows, calves, piglets, carpets, hunting cartridges, doormats, watches, suitcases, radios, shoes, elastic, soap, washing powder, bicycles, motorcycles, baby carriages, inner and outer tires. Everything that was loose and fixed and where something could be earned was smuggled in the border region between the Netherlands and Belgium after the Tweede Wereldoorlog.
