How does time sound? How does a year feel, captured in music and words?
On November 4, the Arenberg De Seizoenen premieres: a poetic, adventurous concert performance in which music, poetry, and performance melt together into one shared theatrical experience.
Pianiste Marie François starts from De Seizoenen van Pjotr Iljitsj Tchaikovsky, an iconic piano cycle that musically and poetically depicted every month of the year 150 years ago, and gives the work a contemporary breath together with VONK & Zonen. What emerges is not a traditional concert, but a theatrical ritual about time, repetition, and transience.
A year unfolds: from the cautious awakening of spring to the stillness of winter. The music is accompanied by new poetry, written especially for this project and brought to the stage by Joke van Leeuwen, Lize Spit, Ester Naomi Perquin, and Max Temmerman.
