When the government decides to ban people over 75 because they no longer contribute anything economically to society, Tereza sees no other option than to flee. She wants to realize her ultimate dream and for that, she travels to a city along the Amazon River. A journey full of wanderings, encounters, and adventures… A sparkling, mesmerizing, but also socially engaged and heartwarming film full of light and courage. The biggest asset is Denise Weinberg in the role of Tereza: she turns her character into a stubborn, witty, and endearing presence. The film warns us against an overly utilitarian society, in which only the productive human still counts. The dystopian is softened by a warm tone, plenty of humor, and a touch of magical realism.
