Bambola - Bambola

David Lynch, Blue Velvet, and Isabella Rossellini. That inspired Sandra Carota, miner's daughter and grandchild of Italian migrants, and Jurgen Denoo to found Bambola. They strip bombastic Italian songs from the 60s and 70s until only the essence remains. Bambola does not choose the typical soundtrack of the Italo-Belgian restaurant, but the (scandal) songs of the Bad Girls (Mina, Patty Pravo, Gabriella Ferri, Loredna Berté). With their combination of sex appeal and a free-spirited image, they paid a high price in the Catholic Italy of that time: singers were censored and songs and video images were banned by the public broadcaster. However, the audience took them into their hearts, and so they built a career spanning decades. Bambola plays in the spirit of the ballroom orchestras, but not dogmatically faithful to the original.
