For thirty years, Daan has been surprising his audience with a whirlwind of musical genres: from pop noire to indie rock, from electro to country, from beats to ballads. Usually, he sings in English, sometimes in Frans of Nederlands. In this theater tour, you discover the common thread in his work: melancholic and simultaneously humorous lyrics full of visual metaphors. Not coincidentally, because besides being a musician, Daan is also a graphic designer.
For this tour, he returns to the essence. Daan plays piano and guitar himself, surrounded by two exceptional musicians. Isolde Lasoen, his permanent musical muse for twenty-five years, brings vibraphone, drums, trumpet, and vocals. Cellist Jean-François Assy, known for collaborations with Alain Bashung, William Sheller, and Yann Tiersen, provides an idiosyncratic sound color.
In an intimate setting, Daan shares stories behind his songs and also gives surprising interpretations of favorite covers.
