BORIS, with Tibbe Walckiers

In the 2026–2027 season, BORIS is starting again at CC De Ploter: an artistic trajectory for young people who feel like making theater, experimenting, and creating a performance together. Throughout the season, we work towards our own production, built from the group itself. This year, the trajectory is guided by Tibbe Walckiers. Tibbe also knows BORIS from the inside: as a young person, he once stood on stage himself within the trajectory. Today he works as an actor and theater maker and previously also guided youth work at Kopergietery. Tibbe Walckiers (2002, Dilbeek) graduated in 2024 as a master of drama at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen and subsequently founded his own company Compagnie Gérard. In his work, he searches for a form of theater in which playing and speaking are close together. He makes performances that start from presence, tension, humor, and recognizability: work in which not everything is fixed, but in which space arises for spontaneity, doubt, and real encounter on stage. Together with the young people, he will work on a physical performance with text, image, and movement. Do not expect a classic play with strictly defined roles, but a performance that grows from improvisation, playing pleasure, and being together on stage. A tragicomic, energetic, and lively performance in which the players themselves are allowed to remain visible: with their individuality, discomfort, humor, and strength. “I like working with young people with a great appetite. Appetite to throw themselves into a co-creative making process and build something together from curiosity and play. Everyone is welcome: players, dancers, musicians, makers, thinkers, or even budding scientists. We provide a guideline price (€ 60), but those who can pay less, pay less. Those who can miss a bit more, may also contribute more. This way, we want to make culture accessible to everyone, regardless of budget.
