De Soundwest Sessies: where musical heritage gets a future The rich music history of South-West Flanders gets a surprising new life in De Soundwest Sessies. Musical talent from our region dives into an iconic Muzikale Parel from the past and reworks it, with professional guidance and coaching, into a bold and contemporary creation. This unique trajectory results in three special live showcases in September, where musical past and future meet on stage. The selected artists not only bring their renewed interpretation and their own song, but also enter into special collaborations with a central guest: a brass ensemble, choir, or even the carillon. The central guests also let themselves be heard with unique classical repertoire from South-West Flanders, specially arranged for these showcases. And it doesn't stop there. The showcases are recorded in their entirety, after which the new creations are immortalized on ‘De Soundwest Vinyl’ — a tangible musical document that will inspire future generations.
