Renaissance 2.0 - Karin Bloemen

At the beginning of 2024, Karin made a special trip to the south of Chile, a sparsely populated area with a lot of natural beauty. It became an overwhelming experience: no stressed people living in their cell phones, but people who take the time for real conversations. As if she had ended up fifty years back in time with a time machine. That intense feeling of a natural life pace brought her to a clear conclusion: we need a new renaissance. Just as the renaissance after the dark middle ages drew inspiration from the Greeks and Romans, we now need inspiration from the past again. And fifty years ago, that was the seventies: freedom, creativity, and fantastic music. In this performance, Karin takes the audience in her own entirely humorous way into her time machine, back to the time before the computer and to the human scale. Together with her four-man band, she ensures an evening that brings you back to the twenty-first century armed and smiling.
