Conference: François Craenhals - 100 Years of Comic Strips

On November 15, 2026, François Craenhals would have been 100 years old. To celebrate this symbolic anniversary and pay tribute to one of the cartoonists who marked the history of Enghien, the Cultural Center of Enghien and the Office du Tourisme are organizing a lecture dedicated to his life and work.\nAuthor notably of the series Les 4 As, Pom et Teddy, or even Chevalier Ardent, François Craenhals profoundly marked the world of comic strips, but also Enghien and its surroundings, where he lived and worked.\nOn the occasion of this meeting, the public will be able to discover or rediscover his journey thanks to Jean-Pierre Verheylewegen, comic book expert, author of exhibitions dedicated notably to Hergé, Bob De Moor, Tillieux, Franquin, and Jacobs, but also biographer and friend of François Craenhals.\nHe will be accompanied by Ghislaine Craenhals, the cartoonist's daughter, who will bring her testimony and recount her father's life, notably his daily life at 21, rue Latérale in Enghien.\nThis lecture is intended above all as a moment of exchange around the life, work, and personality of François Craenhals, and the imprint he left in the city and among its inhabitants.\nPractical information\n📅 Sunday, November 15, 2026\n🕓 From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM\n📍 Ecuries du Parc of Enghien\n🎟️ Free\n© photo: The family of François Craenhals - AD HOC editions 2026
