Monthly walk: Mushroom walk INTRODUCTION to the life of the mushroom

🍄 The autumn colors the Gentbrugse Meersen, and they appear everywhere: mushrooms! From sturdy fly agarics to tiny cups on a branch — it's their moment to shine. 🌿✨ 🗓  Sunday, October 25, 2026 – 2:30 PM to 5 PM During this introductory walk, our guides will take you into the wonderful world of fungi. Because did you know that a mushroom is actually just a small piece of a much larger whole? Under the ground lives an extensive network of fungal threads: the mycelium , the real brain behind the mushroom! And some fungi even live inside trees — alive or dead — and play a leading role in the cycle of nature. In the wooded areas and avenues of the Gentbrugse Meersen, we discover countless species together, sometimes even rare ones. You will learn to know their shapes, colors, and smells, and get a glimpse into their secret life under our feet. 🍁 There are two types of walks: Introductory walk: about the life of the mushroom and the most common species in the Gentbrugse Meersen. (Register below) Advanced walk: for those who like to learn to identify and dive deeper into the mushroom world.
