The Bride Elect - Comic operetta

The Bride Elect ("The Chosen Bride") takes you to the fictional kingdom of Capri where the widow queen Bianca reigns. Her daughter, Princess Minutezza, must marry King Papagallo van Timberio before she turns 18, according to a historical treaty between the two kingdoms. What follows is a delightful comedy full of diplomatic confusion, a 'forced' bride who has her own plans, and a gang of highwaymen who turn things upside down. "The Bride Elect" is a comic operetta in three acts with a playful resolution that revolves around politics, love, and intrigue. This is the annual project of the students of the class "Lyrische Kunst" of the Stedelijk Conservatorium Brugge with free admission for everyone. The performance lasts approximately 60 minutes. De Amerikaanse Componist John Philip SOUSA (1854-1932) became known as "The March King", and is probably the most famous conductor, trombonist, and composer in the history of march music. Sousa's name lives on in the sousaphone.
