In a room with dimmed lights, softer sound, and space for strollers and changing, you can enjoy the best film of the moment in peace. We provide a warm cup of coffee or tea, you provide yourself. What starts as a normal residents' meeting about replacing the apartment building's elevator quickly gets out of hand. When it is mentioned that one of the owners wants to rent his apartment to a colleague who uses medication for mental health issues, tensions run high. The discussion degenerates into a bitter disagreement in which no one is spared. Commentaar Regisseur Santiago Requejo based this sharp and biting comedy on his own short film of the same name from 2021, which was awarded at several film festivals at the time and was on the Oscar shortlist for Beste Live Action Kortfilm. Still, Requejo had many new ideas to add to his story, and the film feels in every way like the completion of his original vision. The characters are simultaneously funny, caricatured, and all too human, and the absurd humorous situations are reminiscent of the best work of Paolo Genovese.
