In ‘Studi per l’intonazione del mare’, music consists of breath, noise, and minimal shifts, breezing on the edge of silence. I SOLISTI works together with music academies to bring the organic work to life with an unseen sound army – let's say navy – of one hundred flutes and just as many saxophones. What arises is not a loud spectacle, but a hypnotic collective wave movement, a sound field that slowly opens and closes again. A rare performance of an iconic work.
