Circus Ronaldo - Sono Io (12+)

Danny and Pepijn Ronaldo, father and son, together on stage. ‘Sono Io?’ is an attempt at a (re-)encounter between father and son. Via their shared love for music and playfulness, they build a bridge between their similarities and differences. The father seems stuck in his past, hopelessly searching for an age-old, but decayed feeling of ecstasy, which he could only create with an audience. An audience that has been absent for so long that he no longer has to leave the stage, which makes its mysticism color his daily life all the more as a common thread. The son searches for the reconciliation of his two beloved worlds: the old circus that his father created, and the world outside. Is a son still a son, when he can no longer identify with an identity maintained for so long? ‘Sono Io?’ (‘Is that me?) is a search for reunification, between father and son, between player and audience, between old glory and new opportunities.
