Jef Everaert & Marica Marinoni - In Difference

Marica Marinoni (Italy) and Jef Everaert (Belgium) are both masters of the Cyr-wheel (a large metal ring), but their style and personalities differ strongly. Jef is indecisive and peace-loving, Marica is precisely steadfast and out for conflict. One approaches the wheel cautiously from balance, the other jumps into it with full conviction and lets herself fall. The wheel thus becomes a mirror of their personalities, within which their opposite approaches intertwine with each other. Precisely in this contrast, they discover a joint dynamic, both physically and relationally. What does it mean to be two without merging? Can we exist side by side without compromise, without fusion, without hierarchy? ‘In Difference’ gives no answer, it performs it. That dynamic results in an exciting and wonderfully creative duet, with subtle humor and with previously unseen acrobatic feats that will amaze even the most spoiled circus enthusiast.
