Picnic Music #7 - Marcelle Marcelle is the project of singer-songwriter and producer Marte Truyers, who studied at the conservatory in Ghent. It is an ode to Marcel, her dead rooster, and to all uncles with beer bellies. Intimate and organic, she brings melodies that are fluidly longing and brilliantly healing. Her songs are the comfort that hides behind a hug, while polyphonically flirting with that which already exists. The stubborn wanting that does not have to be. Inspired by brunettes like Feist, Adrianne Lenker, PJ Harvey, and Joan Baez, she puts purity first in narrative form, to soothe the mood and let the word shine just as much. Marcelle is for all that grows in daylight and is nevertheless a home for all doubters.
