The Man in Black brings an impressive overview of the career of the greatest country singer ever in just over 25 beautiful songs, including about 8 duets Johnny Cash/June Carter. True to the roots of country, but with the energy and power of rock’n roll. Johnny Cash for the 21st century . The deep , lived-in voice of singer/guitarist Geert Bouckaert is very close to that of Cash, but still, he gives every song his own touch. Singer Yanina Van Steenbrugghe also fills in the parts of June Carter in her own unique way. More powerful, more soulful. Gitarist Lajos Tauber provides the typical country sound with his telecaster, but also enriches the Cash repertoire with more rock-oriented and bluesy sounds, often carried by the harmonica of Geert Bouckaert. Contrabassist Karel Algoed and drummer Tom Voet add the vibe of rockabilly. Between the songs, Geert Bouckaert shares facts and anecdotes from the turbulent life of Johnny Cash with the audience with a lot of humor, which gives the show an absolute added value. The Man in Black is therefore a much-requested band in bars, clubs, and cultural centers all over Flanders, Brussels, Wallonia, South Netherlands, and North France. The band succeeds in reaching a wide audience. At every performance, both twenty-somethings and sixty-plussers sing along to all the lyrics at the top of their lungs. Fragments
