Homage to Yasmine

Yasmine, known as the singer with a deep love for poetic lyrics, chose a more personal musical direction halfway through her career. Inspired by greats like Daniel Lanois, Joni Mitchell, and Leonard Cohen, she brought a new sound with Portfolio. This album and the successful singles ‘Ik Was Zo Graag Bij Jou Gebleven’, ‘Ik Tover Jou’, ‘Diep In Mij’ and ‘Nooit Nog een Andere’ earned her her first gold record. The subsequent album ‘Prêt-à-Porter’ also went gold thanks to hits like ‘Porselein’ and ‘Altijd Weer Tikt De Klok’.In 2004, Yasmine celebrated ten years on stage with the compilation album ‘Liefde en Liedjes’ and a tour of the same name. Her last album, ‘Licht Ontvlambaar’ (2006), was a powerful and personal ode to storytellers like Leonard Cohen.Toen Yasmine left us in 2009, the music world lost an icon. Yet her music continues to resonate, her warm voice and meaningful lyrics still touch us today. In this special homage, Evi Hanssen, Andrea Croonenberghs, and Amaryllis Temmerman bring a selection of Yasmine's most beautiful songs to life.
