Mohanad Mukhtar creates a new visual narrative, which makes children think about the power of friendship, about the difference between boys and girls, about saying goodbye… He is inspired by the story of Kahramana, the brave wife of Ali Baba. Mohanad tells about the friendship between Kahramana and Jafar. They grow up together in a small community in Baghdad. When war breaks out in the spring of 2003, a sad period begins. The war destroys not only buildings. No one trusts each other anymore, and the friendship between Kahramana and Jafar also comes under pressure. During the follow-up, the children play the game ‘Betha Buth’ (House, Houses) together with Mohanad and get the opportunity to share their own stories. The children are invited to draw figures that they can hang in a wooden toy house.
