CasAperta Music salon for people with dementia and their loved ones

A collaboration with HOGent Conservatorium In CasAperta Muziek Salon we welcome duos: a loved one together with a person with (young) dementia. Let us know if you plan to come. Reception from 2:00 PM. The concert starts at 2:30 PM and is followed around 4:00 PM by a delicacy. We finish at 5:00 PM. Thijs Amez - classical accordion The accordion is for many a nostalgic instrument. Combining that recognizable sound with classical music and refined transcriptions can work both familiarly and surprisingly – a warm and connecting experience. Franz Schubert – Sechs Moments Musicaux, op. 94 (own transcription for classical accordion, approx. 30 minutes) This work consists of six contrasting “musical moments”, originally written for piano. In this transcription for classical accordion, the different characters – from intimate and lyrical to lively and danceable – get a new sound color and breathing.
