Friday evening, August 28, the annual Night of the Bat takes place. Natuurpunt Klein-Brabant and Londerzeel are organizing an activity together this time in the church of Lippelo, the ideal place to get to know these fascinating animals better. The church attic houses a large colony of serotine bats and mouse-eared bats. After a presentation in the church, we focus, outside in the twilight, on the flying out of the dozens of bats, already a spectacular phenomenon. Afterwards, we make a short excursion towards the Marselaer reserve with bat detectors. On the way, depending on the weather, we visit a light trap for moths and we certainly also have a chance to spot owls. Appointment at 8 pm in the church of Lippelo, end around 11 pm.
