Jeroen Knapen is one of the leading DADGAD guitarists in Flanders. In the past decade, he worked as a musician in various groups and projects on about 20 studio albums, several of which scored highly in the domestic and foreign press (fRoots, Songlines magazine, New Folk Sounds, Trad'Magazine…). Think of, among others, Ghent Folk Violin Project, Surpluz, Griff, Brisk… Each and every one of them established names in the Flemish folk landscape.
In addition, he played numerous concerts in Belgium and the Netherlands, but he also stood on stage in, among others, China, Canada, Portugal, and Switzerland. He gained experience and shared the stage with prominent international musicians such as Mia Marine, Mohsen Amini, Wouter Vandenabeele, and Bruno Letron.
After all those experiences, the time is ripe and he is finally coming out with his first solo material. Expect brand new compositions, but traditional 18th-century repertoire also passes in review. The power of the melody comes first here.
