In Kerff , Sebastien Dewaele tells the story of Marcel Kerff , a butcher's son and cyclist from the Voer region circa 1900. Dewaele does not make Kerff a hero, but sketches the portrait of a man who spent his life serving in the shadow of others and remained faithful to who he was – a servant in the race, a devoted brother, and later a butler who continued to serve until his death. Kerff is a monologue supported by live music about service, compassion, and the value of the small .
