Museum Matinee - Anniversary edition

Sun, 27 Sept 2026 · 10:00
KMKG, Brussels
€3–5
In 2017, we organized our very first Museum Matinee in the Koninklijke Musea for Art and History. With a series of special occasional guides, visitors got to know the collection in a different way: no classic guided tour, but a free journey of discovery where you choose for yourself which guide and which object you join. A formula that makes the museum visit more personal, accessible, and surprising. After successful editions in, among others, the Museum of Natural Sciences, the AfricaMuseum, Autoworld, and the House of Europese Geschiedenis, we return for this festive edition to where it all began. De Koninklijke Musea for Art and History continue to impress with a world-class collection, from ancient masterpieces to more recent expansions such as the Art Nouveau rooms and the 19th-century galleries. During this anniversary edition, our occasional guides will once again introduce you to this rich collection in their own personal way. Who can you definitely expect? Yasmina El Messaoudi (VRT journalist and author) Kristian Vanderwaeren (head of Belgian customs) Toni Coppers (crime author) Sven Speybrouck (radio and TV presenter), Lectrr (cartoonist) Luana Difficile (BRUZZ journalist) Annemie Peeters (radio and TV presenter) Herman Mennekens & Axel De Backer (authors of biography Joseph Diongre) Nicholas Van Laerhoven (enthusiastic Latin teacher who will guide at Antiquity) Kurt Deswert (football historian) They will take you along their favorite objects and stories. After the guided tours, we conclude as it should be: with a drink and time to chat. Early bird discount: Buy your ticket before July 1 and pay only €3 instead of €5.
