Elena, a travel agent, lives with her daughters Lucia and Aurora in Lima, the Peruvian capital, in the 90s. This single mother wants to escape the socio-political and economic crisis and decides to move to Minnesota. For this, however, she needs the agreement of their father, Carlos, who returns to the girls' lives after a long period of absence. Thanks to this reunion, Carlos realizes how much he missed his "Reinas" (queens) and tries to make up for lost time. This heartwarming and nostalgic coming-of-age film by Klaudia Reynicke is inspired by the memories of his own childhood in Lima. It deals with sisterly love, heartbreak, and farewells, but also with the turbulent history of Peru.
