In their version, the tragic heroine Giselle gives way to a multitude of Giselle(s), all victims of violence and betrayal. On stage, the warrior-dancers track down their executioners. They are led by the Queen of the Willis, interpreted with mastery by the star dancer. This resolutely modern and feminist re-reading of this masterpiece draws its strength from the theatricality and richness of the choreography. The movements of the performers release a combative energy and impressive power. As for music, the original score by Adolphe Adam marries harmoniously with electronic sounds and the music of the Tambours du Bronx.
