Gensche Paradijsveugels is the newest production for adults by Koninklijk Poppentoneel Festival. The play is based on the well-known theater of Gaston Martens and tells the story of 2 bosom friends who organize a St. Nicholas trip, but they have an accident. They end up successively in \"Hell\" and in \"Heaven\", after which they are sent back to earth. Hilarious if you know that this puppet show actually brings Ghent satire with a solid wink to local politics. The characters they meet in Hell and Heaven are therefore totally unexpected. In recent years, the company has brought Ghent satire for adults and upcoming youth once a year, with the traditional puppet figures incorporated into the stories. The text adaptation flows from the pen of the house author Patrick Van Damme. The puppets, sets - everything ‘homemade’ and the general management are the responsibility of Wim and Christine De Wispelaere Dhelft, the inspirers of Koninklijk Poppentoneel Festival. This performance is musically accompanied by accordionist Marc Depraetere.
