WALK – BOAT TRIP

Something to look forward to … Heemkundekring Het Bezemklokje is organizing a WANDEL – BOOTTOCHT together with the Turnhout city guides and the Yacht Club VVW Taxandria In the footsteps of Martin Verbeeck, world citizen in the Kempen About 30 minutes after departure, we dock at marina ’t Gevaer in Oud Turnhout. A guided nature walk of a little under an hour and a half leads us past relics of several brick and cement factories, clay pits, and workers' houses that evoke memories of the life's work of Martin Verbeeck. Three hours after departure, we dock back at the Anco towers at Nieuwe Kaai. During the cruise, a city guide tells the history of the Dessel-Schoten canal and the industry that developed along its banks. Practical Departure at Nieuwe Kaai at the foot of the Anco towers behind brasserie La Perla. Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14 at 10:00 – 10:15 – 13:00 – 13:30 – 14:00 It is best to be present 15 minutes before departure. Appropriate walking shoes (NO heels!) and possibly rain gear are necessary. This trip is NOT suitable for people who have difficulty walking or for children under 12 years old.
