Doornik of Tournai is a Belgian city in the province of Hainaut. The municipality has nearly 70,000 inhabitants. Na Tongeren Tournai is considered the oldest city in Belgium. It was a capital of the Frankish Empire and has played an important cultural-historical role since then. Tournai already existed in Roman times under the name Turnacum.
