On June 6, choir CANTILONE breaks out of its classical cocoon and seeks an encounter with musicians who are at home in jazz, world music, and improvisation. What begins as familiar classical choral singing suddenly slips into another world: a warm jazz color, a pulsating Latin groove, an unexpected improvisation that challenges and lifts the choir. A subdued choral song finds a playful, almost mischievous counter-voice in another style. Musical chemistry!
