A philosopher, a child, and an adult go in search of the answer to the question: what does it mean to live? By returning to the origin of the world, they try to reimagine it. A playful and philosophical performance for all ages.
The performance is the result of a collaboration between Jolente De Keersmaeker, choreographer Jérôme Bel, and art historian Estelle Zhong Mengual. It builds on their previous work Recommencer ce monde (2024), based on philosopher Baptiste Morizot, and appears here in a Dutch-language version. On an empty stage, the child and the philosopher see a world full of animals and landscapes, while the adult seems to have lost that imagination. Gradually, he lets himself be carried away in their view anyway.
De Wereld Herbeginnen invites us to rethink our place in the living world, in an accessible and poetic way.
