What follows is not a classic relationship drama, but a slowly imploding field of tension in which speaking and remaining silent prove equally destructive. The more Charlie and Emma try to get a grip on the situation, the more entangled they become in their own words, or the lack thereof. With a sharp sense of discomfort and absurdity, director Kristoffer Borgli (Dream Scenario) builds a film that balances between psychological experiment and biting comedy. Zendaya and Pattinson play a fascinating game of attraction and repulsion, in which every look and every silence is charged.
