Polish(ed) Power with Grażyna Bacewicz

Het Karski Quartet is a young string quartet that resides in Belgium but consists of three-quarters Polish musicians. The big dream of this ensemble is to promote the music of their great idol Grażyna Bacewicz at home and abroad. And rightly so, because Bacewicz is an incredibly tough composer, who can surprise, move, and overwhelm. Earlier this year, the Karskis already unpacked with a beautiful CD that was internationally acclaimed. Now you get the chance to hear them live in Leuven and let yourself be completely carried away by Bacewicz’s versatile style. In addition to the fourth string quartet, her two beautiful, very different piano quintets are on the program. Festival-artist-in-residence Brecht Valckenaers will join the Karskis for that.
