Abdij van Vlierbeek, Kessel-Lo
Free
Do you feel like taking a sturdy walk through what were once the farmlands, meadows, and forests around the Benedictine abbey of Vlierbeek? Then put on your walking shoes and go out together with a guide from the Heemkundige Kring Vlierbeek non-profit organization.
The foundation of the Benedictine abbey of Vlierbeek dates back to the year 1125. The swampy area, outside the Leuven city wall, in the valley of the Vlierbeek, received a completely different appearance, especially through the work of these Benedictine monks. Discover how nature, the landscape, and the habitation evolved through the centuries.
Meeting at 3:00 PM at the Westerpoort. Price €8.00 per person, children up to 12 years old free. You can pay for your participation at the start of the walk via Payconiq. If you prefer a cash payment, we kindly ask you to pay the exact amount. Prior registration is not necessary.
