Commentaar Olga Lucovnicova strung together the prestigious prizes in 2021 for her short documentary Nanu Tudor: she not only won the Gouden Beer for Beste Kortfilm at the Berlin Film Festival, but also the European Film Award for Beste Kortfilm. In her first feature-length documentary, she goes with her father to Russia, to the town where her grandma lived. She tries to get a view of the old Russian soul that shimmers through in the letters of her deceased grandma, a soul that is burdened with intergenerational trauma.
