In the hope of unravelling a deep-rooted family secret, award-winning filmmaker Olga Lucovnicova travels from Belgium to a remote town, deeply hidden in the Russische Oeral. Just as she tries to connect with her unknown family and their shared past, Russia starts a new war. Will the voices from the past be silenced once again? Specifically for Cinema ZED Hasselt Open Cinema Tijdens Open Cinema, all films are 7 euros! On Sunday 27, Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 September, Cinema ZED Hasselt opens its doors wide. For three full days you can enjoy a wonderfully varied program of top films for only 7 euros! Curious? Be sure to drop by during Open Cinema! Commentaar Olga Lucovnicova strung together the prestigious prizes in 2021 for her short documentary Nanu Tudor: she not only won the Gouden Beer for Beste Kortfilm at the Berlin Film Festival, but also the European Film Award for Beste Kortfilm. In her first feature-length documentary, she goes with her father to Russia, to the town where her grandma lived.
