Claudette is a tribute to old age. A tribute to wrinkles, the marks of wisdom and experience. A tribute to a whole generation of grandmothers. Claudette is also a tribute to the bond between generations, to the joyful connection between grandchildren and grandparents. The show tells the story of an elderly lady who rebels against her loneliness just as she is about to celebrate her 90th birthday! It is the story of a grandchild and a tender, dreamy grandmother, who is tired of being alone and sitting quietly all day, who has had enough of eating soup day in, day out, and who wants to feel alive again. Winner of the Prix du Kiwanis (young company) at the theatre festival for young audiences in Huy in 2025. About Cie Balancetoi Compagnie Balancetoi is a Belgian circus and theatre troupe founded in 2016. It was formed following a meeting between Sara Martínez, Charlotte Cornet and Valentin Stalins, who reunited in Brussels after completing their training at the International Circus and Theatre School (CAU) in Granada (Spain). The troupe’s name, originally spelled “Bah, lance-toi!”, was inspired by the backgrounds of the three artists, who, after pursuing fairly conventional careers (namely as a teacher, a lawyer and an industrial engineer), decided to throw themselves into the wonderful adventure of the artistic creative process.
