TRY-OUT / STREET THEATER - All ages
Danie Jordens comes from a miner's family and was one of seven children around the table. Moments he spent alone with his father were rare, but in the summer there always seemed to be time to make kites together from old newspapers. The delicate making process stood in sharp contrast to the way his father usually was; a hard worker with little time for his children.
TERRIL is a location performance in which a father and son build a monumental wind machine together that makes a kite take off. The performance combines mechanics, clowning, word, and music, and tells a personal story about origin, imagination, and the transfer between generations.
