LANDI’S CUBE – Situated Bodies

LANDI’S CUBE – Situated Bodies is a participatory, immersive performance in which the audience becomes the performer. Equipped with VR headsets, participants each step into their own virtual cube: an intimate space that functions as a non-verbal communication system. Here, choreography does not arise from fixed patterns, but from direct interaction between different perspectives: one that guides and another that translates into movement. In this unique setting, the boundaries between spectator and creator are dissolved. Bodies are constantly moving, reacting and interacting with one another, while technology mediates and distorts the experience. What emerges is a living choreography: fragile, ephemeral and constantly reshaped by the participants themselves. This performance invites you not just to watch, but to experience, to question your own way of perceiving things and, together with others, to discover a new space for movement. In 2021, Margherita Landi won the prestigious Auggie Award for Best Art at AWE – Augmented World Expo (California). In 2024, she received both an honorary mention at the CultTech x Ars Electronica Award in Vienna and a special VR mention at the Videocittà Award in Rome, in recognition of her innovative research at the intersection of VR and dance.
