Oil painting portrait camp from a live model with Bertrand Desmaricaux

Explore the magic of colors in portrait painting. During this training weekend, live models will be used to practice intensively painting a striking portrait, starting with colors. There is a sequence of theoretical explanations, demonstrations, examples, and in-depth painting by the participants themselves with frequent individual feedback. The workshop is designed to be very useful as practice and a reminder of principles for those who have already participated, but it is also entirely accessible to newcomers. By varying the focus, examples, and models, a framework is created in which everyone can evolve in an interesting way. For 2 days (Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, 2026, each day from 10 AM to 1 PM and from 2 PM to 5 PM) participants will paint with oil paint on canvas or panel, but those who prefer acrylic paint will also be able to use it. Easels and chairs will be available. You bring with you: - the paint you like to work with; suggestion for those who still have to buy the paint: lemon yellow, yellow ochre, cadmium red, alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue, viridian green, ivory black, titanium white, burnt sienna - linseed oil for oil painting and possibly also gamsol (or another odorless thinner) with two small resealable jars - rags or paper towels - 3 canvases or panels (ready to paint) (suggestion: about 40x40cm or 40x50cm) - several brushes of different widths, including at least 1 measuring 3 cm in width - a palette, or what you use as a palette - your picnic and your drinks.
